MY PERSONAL HOME project:

My husband and I bought a house in our dream neighborhood a few blocks from where we grew up as kids in Point Loma. We moved with a 2 week old newborn and were signing closing documents in the hospital room. We knew this was our forever home and it was the greatest miracle and blessing that we somehow managed to get it going against multiple offers. 

As a designer, owning my first home was extremely overwhelming. The pressure i had as a decorator to make my home picture perfect and to be my own client was a struggle. Not only that, but i had a 2 week old baby at home. I had to surrender and accept the fact that it is going to take some time to do all the things we want to the place.

So here it is! (original wallpaper and all). We switched out pendant lights, ripped out carpet, and I got to have some freedom with all the decor furniture while still keeping it on a budget. One day we will be able to blow out some walls and design it how we want it, but for now it’s our favorite beach cottage and there’s nothing better than living it in with our new growing family!
